Work on the airport runway at begins in earnest tonight, with the development getting under way at 9pm.

Workers will be on site all night and throughout tomorrow and Wednesday.

That means the national newspapers will not be delivered until late tomorrow, when they arrive by boat.

But if you're eager to get your daily national news input then the Guernsey Press should be your first port of call – we'll have eight pages of national news and sport tomorrow and Wednesday, to compensate for the late arrival of the papers.

The hearing into Low Value Consignment Relief may be over, but that doesn't mean the ramifications of the decision have been explored fully, and today we'll be pursuing another important potential impact of the loss of LVCR to Guernsey.

Later today we're hoping to be given the full list of the 16 islanders who have been chosen to carry the Olympic Games torch during its visit to Guernsey in July. They'll be printed tomorrow, but we'll have them up on the website as soon as we get them.

And our sports department is putting the finishing touches to a report on the weekend's volleyball interinsulars at Beau Sejour, and this will appear tomorrow.
