A SERIOUS collision involving two cars and a van saw a baby and four adults taken to hospital this afternoon.

Emergency services attended the crash on Vazon coast road just after noon.

It is understood that a blue Renault Clio travelling towards Cobo drifted across the road, catching a van that was travelling in the opposite direction.

The van spun round, breaking its back axle, while the Renault Clio hit a Peugeot that was also travelling towards Perelle.

The woman who was driving the Renault Clio, who was complaining of leg and hip pain, had to be cut out by the Fire and Rescue Service. She was placed on a spinal board as a precaution.

A man in the front seat had neck and chest pain but a woman in the back of the car had no obvious injuries.

A little girl, who had seat-belt abrasions, her mother and another woman were also taken to hospital and treated for shock.

The two men in the van were uninjured.
