RICHARD COLLAS was sworn in as Bailiff at a ceremony at St James on Friday.
He takes over from Sir Geoffrey Rowland who has retired.
Following the ceremony, HM Sheriff Richard De La Mare led a procession of members of the Royal Court and other dignitaries down Smith Street and High Street to a service at the Town Church.
Prior to entering the Church, the Lt-Governor, Air Marshal Peter Walker, and the Bailiff inspected the Guard of Honour that lined up outside.
Mr Collas is Guernsey's eighth post-war Bailiff.
