TWENTY finance workers will lose their jobs at Rothschild Trust Guernsey during the next six months, it has been confirmed.

The firm announced yesterday that it will trim its workforce by a third – down from 60 – to implement a major restructuring.

It said the move would remove duplication and allow it to 'meet more complex operational needs more efficiently, on both a local and a trust group level'.

A statement from the group said the changes would ensure Rothschild Trust Guernsey had a sound basis on which to grow its business and strengthen its future in the island.

Rothschild Trust Guernsey managing director Emma Roberts said the company was still fully committed to the island and the local arm remained an 'integral part of our wealth management business'.
