FORMER Island Coachways employees, who feared they would be jobless after being shed by the company, have gained fresh contracts with Guernsey's new bus operator.
HCT Group chief executive Dai Powell said roughly 50 staff, mainly drivers but including a small number of administration staff, had transferred to the group's subsidiary, CT Plus, after it signed a two-year deal with Environment.
'All the drivers we have employed, apart from two or three, have come from the previous operator,' he said.
'When we're up to full capacity we'll have about 60 employees running the service - the majority of staff will be ex-Island Coachways.'
