Weymouth berth repairs will take more than 12 months
PLANS to carry out major repairs to Weymouth's quay have been given the go-ahead by councillors.
PLANS to carry out major repairs to Weymouth's quay have been given the go-ahead by councillors.
But the work is not expected to be finished until April 2013.
Members of Weymouth and Portland Borough Council's Management Committee decided at meeting this week to restore the ferry berth.
Condor confirmed it would continue to liaise with the council about the plans - it has operated from Poole since the fault was found.
The borough council has agreed to allocate £150,000 from its harbour walls reserve to appoint engineering consultant Atkins to design and put together a scheme to repair the quay wall and also to bring about significant and lasting improvements to the port.
