BUSINESSES are being put off moving into local warehouses due to the complicated use-class system, estate agent Nick Renny has said.

The Martel Maides commercial director, pictured, has been involved in talks with Environment and Commerce and Employment to change the complex system.

'We have quite a convoluted use-class system, which restricts what any building can be used for,' he said.

'What is required is much more flexibility for what buildings can be used for. If one business moves out of a warehouse and another moves in, but does a slightly different thing, then each time it will need to get planning permission.'
