A BEAUTY student has become this year's Miss Alderney.
Charlie Barker, 17, was chosen by a panel of independent judges and awarded the honour on Saturday night.
'Ever since I was a little girl I have always wanted to be Miss Alderney,' she said.
'Now that I am old enough I took the chance to apply in the hope of becoming Miss Alderney 2012. I can't believe I've actually done it and won.'
She is currently studying beauty and holistic therapies at the College of Further Education in Guernsey, but said she would eventually like to pursue a career as a veterinary nurse.
