Education has eight staff on Beaucamps site

EIGHT Education Department staff are working on the Les Beaucamps High School rebuild, despite contractor R. G. Falla having its own construction team and project manager, it has been confirmed.

But the department confirmed that States Property Services, part of Treasury and Resources, has stepped in to review the number of people it has working on the project.

Former director of education Derek Neale, pictured, who left the role ahead of the publication of a widely critical review of education in the island, is now based at Les Beaucamps as project sponsor.

Seven other Education staff are also based at the school in temporary accommodation. A department spokeswoman said the move was customary with such projects as the focus of the work was now on-site.
