THE Alderney home of Wombles creator Elisabeth Beresford has been put up for sale.
The writer and journalist died in December 2010 and her home at 22, Little Street, has been put on the market for £625,000.
The four-bedroom house, which was built in 1727, is still crammed with mementos from Elisabeth's life. Over recent months, her children, Kate and Marcus, have been busy liaising with Alderney Museum over a Wombles exhibition to be staged this summer.
Elisabeth - or Liza as she was known - first holidayed on the island and in 1978 she and husband Max Robertson moved to Alderney permanently.
Kate Robertson said it was with 'great regret' that they were selling the house.
