The second Mulkerrin report, which follows its predecessor on secondary education, was released by the Education Department yesterday.
While on the whole author Denis Mulkerrin gave a positive account of island primary schools, praising staff and children's attitude towards learning, the report also highlighted areas for improvement.
In particular it noted a 'worrying' decline in reading results at Key Stage 2 since 2009 - especially for boys.
