Forest head Gary Le Huray, pictured, agreed with the Mulkerrin report's recommendation that the number of exams should be cut from seven to two.
'I've been saying for many years that the number of exams in the 11-plus should be cut so, in that respect, he has my wholehearted support.
'I don't think anyone who has gone through it can fail to appreciate the impact it has on children in Year 6 - I know why we have the system but I think it's too onerous and it could be slimmed down to provide similar results.'
