Most pro-car department is running buses

ENVIRONMENT'S new board makes it the most 'un-bus friendly' States department - with three out of its five members being labelled pro-car.
The Bus Users' Group carried out the 'bus friendliness survey' and said it was strange that the department appeared to have the most pro-car board, as it was the one that most would expect to promote greater bus use.
However, the group said it admired the qualities of the three pro-car members and hoped to develop better relations with them.
The users' group did not 'name and shame' which board members it understood to be pro-car.
Group coordinator Fergus Dunlop said a survey was sent to all candidates in April's election - 67 responded.
