EDUCATION will not reconsider its decision to have one Reception class at La Houguette, its minister said yesterday.

The question was raised at question time by Deputy John Gollop, pictured.

Angry parents have argued that Education was wrong to have just one class this year instead of the usual two as only 22 pupils had registered by the February deadline.

They claimed the number of families still trying to apply would take that number up to 33.

But minister Robert Sillars was confident his department had made the right decision.

'As with all States departments, the Education Department is mandated to ensure that public resources are used to best advantage,' he said.
