EXCESSIVE working hours, charging for staff parking, poor wages and a clause that could see drivers sent to UK depots at short notice has seen CT Plus employees call out to their union for help.

Unite regional officer Bob Lanning said he had contacted the service provider, which took over from Island Coachways at the end of March, in order to find a solution to the drivers' grievances.

These included claims that drivers were working up to seven hours at a time without a break and that it was 'not uncommon' for some to be working up to 70 hours per week.

CT Plus confirmed it was aware a meeting had taken place between the union and a 'rather small' number of the company's staff.

But it refused to comment on any specific issue.
