REGAINING a two-form entry system at La Houguette will be an 'uphill struggle' once lost, its school committee has said.

The committee, made up of representatives from St Peter's and St Saviour's, has sent a letter challenging Education following its decision to drop one of the two Reception classes for this year's intake.

It has asked the department a number of questions concerning its reasoning and processes.

A committee spokeswoman claimed regaining a two-class entry at La Houguette would be difficult once gone - and a permanent loss would have ramifications for the staff, pupils and the community.

'It is this very point that we wish the political board and the department to give due and proper consideration to before making such a radical decision that will affect the future of La Houguette greatly,' she said.
