AROUND 2,000 Condor Ferries passengers travelling to and from the Channel Islands have been affected after severe weather in the English Channel forced the cancellation of three high-speed ferry services.

A Condor spokesman said yesterday's late sailing, which was due to depart at 3.30pm from Poole and return at 1.45am today, was cancelled.

In addition, both today's crossings between Poole and the Channel Islands have also been cancelled.

'Currently, services between the Channel Islands and St Malo are continuing as scheduled, although the weather is likely to cause some delays.

'Saturday's sailings between Poole and the Channel Islands remain unaffected at present, as the stormy weather is forecast to return to within operational limits by then,' the spokesman said yesterday.
