A CLASS of Elizabeth College students have received detailed accounts of life on board HMS Daring after sending handwritten letters to the crew.

Captains, lieutenant-commanders, doctors, cooks, and chaplains responded to all of the 22 boys' letters, explaining what it was like to live on board one of the most advanced ships ever built and some of the dangers they encounter.

The Year 7 pupils were studying writing letters when teacher Jo Flood thought it would be a bit different and interesting to send letters to the ship.

More than a month later they all received replies.
