SARK'S emergency services' response to yesterday's incident in which a carriage overturned was worthy of a big city, tourists who witnessed the incident have said.

Nine people were injured in the crash.

Tourists Michael and Isabelle Seredynsky described the emergency services' response as marvellous and remarkable.

'Although we weren't injured we were probably all shocked,' Mr Seredynsky said. 'People brought us chairs to sit on and a lady called Hazel Fry brought us cups of tea. Given that the accident happened in Sark where there are obviously limitations with transport, I still cannot get over how quickly expert help was on hand.

'It seemed to me to be the sort of efficiency which would be praiseworthy in a big city.'
