Open air boxing thrills crowd

CROWDS turned out in their thousands to watch boxers battle it out at this year's open air event at the Track on Saturday night.

Islanders said the atmosphere was brilliant and were impressed by the talent within the ring.

It was the first time storeman Warren Boscher had attended, but he said the evening was made better by the good weather.

'It has been absolutely brilliant down here so far. The sun is out, there is a friendly atmosphere and everyone is having a good time,' the 23-year-old said.

'My friends came last year and said it was good so I decided to get tickets and I'm glad I did.'
