STAFF will start work at the new Les Beaucamps High School on Monday, the Education Department has announced.

But more work on the building will be carried out at weekends and in the evenings following delays during the build.

Work on the £38m. redevelopment of the Castel secondary school started at the end of 2010.

'As expected, the contractor is still working on site but school staff can access most areas of the new school this week by arrangement,' an Education Department spokesman said.

'Work will continue at weekends and after school hours once term begins so the contractor can complete minor works and de-snagging. This is necessary owing to the three-month delay caused by the replacement of the pre-cast concrete slabs.'
