DELAYS caused by Les Beaucamps floor beam collapse helped push a UK firm to the brink of insolvency, the subcontractor, which now owes local businesses £125,000, has claimed.

But main contractor R. G. Falla has said it did everything it could to support struggling electrical company Lauren Lloyd - including 'substantial' advanced payments.

The company was on the brink of bankruptcy owing 90 creditors - including 13 local firms - just under £3.4m. before signing a CVA (company voluntary agreement).

It will now look to pay them back 61p in the pound over a five-year period as an alternative to liquidation.

A statement released by the company said it had experienced difficulties paying suppliers on time due to late and reduced payments from clients and contractors through no fault of its own.
