Facebook poll will choose the Miss Guernsey finalists

Women will once again have the chance to contest the title of Miss Guernsey as the competition returns this year.

Entries are open for the event, which takes place on Sunday 14 October and is being supported by locally-brewed lager Breda and the Carlton Hotel, where the event will be staged.

Carlton general manager Chris Le Friec said that he wanted to make the event a special occasion in keeping with the competition's long history.

'So many people have fond memories of the event over the years that we were keen to give it some real glitz and glamour,' he said.
