THE annual parade and church service marked the end of Battle of Britain Week yesterday.

After forming at the White Rock the parade marched to The Quay for inspection by Lt-Governor Air Marshal Peter Walker, who was accompanied by Bailiff Richard Collas.

Parade commander Flt-Lt Syd Bowsher said he was honoured to be involved.

'This is my first time commanding this event and I'm very proud to do so,' he said.

Now retired from the RAF, Flt-Lt Bowsher, who was born in Canada, became a cadet in 1972.
