AFTER 45 years of service, the 'face of Guernsey marinas' retired yesterday.

Colleagues and friends of Graham Trebert filled the lifeboat shed to say bon voyage to the marina manager.

Mr Trebert, 66, who started his career as a harbour attendant, continued to work past retirement in order to complete 45 years working with Guernsey Harbours.

'I do think of it as a milestone,' he said.

'I have seen hundreds of people come and go within the harbour and I like to think I was an integral cog in the wheel.'
