LES Beaucamps High School students and staff watched yesterday as work began on demolishing the former school.

Education minister Robert Sillars helped start knocking the building down by taking control of a demolition machine and ripping the former English classrooms apart.

'It was brilliant and, in a way, very rewarding,' said Deputy Sillars.

'It shows we are really under way with the project now.

'We will end up with a world class school.'

The students moved into the new school building at the beginning of this month.
