RESIDENTS claim to have been wiped off the map by Guernsey's new bus operator in an angry backlash to the new winter timetable.

Criticism of the removal of bus stops in the busy Route du Camp du Roi came amid growing fears that some of the changes could lead to a even greater fall in passenger numbers.

Environment minister Roger Domaille also voiced his disappointment about the newly released passenger figures, which showed an accelerated decline in journeys since CT Plus took over in April.

CT Plus, however, insisted its winter changes had been received well and blamed poor passenger numbers on a fall in visitors to the island.
