Hundreds of islanders visited the old school, which was last used by the Guernsey College of Further Education, to reminisce.
Stories such as getting caned outside the headmaster's office and boys escaping through a hatch to get out of art were just some of the memories the men shared with each other.
The Guernsey Housing Association held the open day ahead of demolition of the 1950s and 1930 parts of the building.
The face of the original 1893 building will be kept as part of the new development of flats.
