A FORMER police officer has admitted being involved in drug trafficking.

Appearing in the Royal Court, Michael Anthony Falla, 68, pleaded guilty to counts of importing the Class B drug mephedrone - a synthetic amphetamine - conspiring to supply the drug, and being part of a conspiracy to transfer the proceeds of drug trafficking.

His co-accused in each matter, wife Mandy Jane, 51, son Charles, 20, and an 18-year-old who was a juvenile at his first court appearance and cannot be named for legal reasons, also admitted their guilt.

The quantity of drugs involved is understood to be considerable.
