There was some flooding along the West coast last night as a result of the unusually high tide and windy conditions.

We're going there today to talk to residents and businesses and find out how badly they were affected as well as keeping an eye on the situation during the day, when more high tides and winds are expected.

We've heard that a group of States members have travelled to London today, and we're trying to find out what they've gone over for with a view to having a report in tomorrow's Press.

Tonight sees the Institute of Directors annual management shadowing awards and tomorrow we'll have a picture of the event with a brief story. Expect more to appear in the business pages in the near future.

Several cars have been damaged in the Castel recently, and a reporter will be visiting residents in the affected area to find out the extent of the damage and what has been done to catch the perpetrator.

And tonight sees the latest Alderney States meeting, with our correspondent filing a report tomorrow on the discussions which are due to include this year's budget and plans for a new crane at the harbour.

The sports department is preparing a look ahead to the island hockey squad's first outing in this years England Hockey Trophy competition, when they play Tulse Hill and Dulwich on Sunday, and tomorrow will also feature a report on tonight's Stranger Cup match between Bels and Vale Rec which kicks off at the Track at 7.30.
