THE world's biggest annual sporting event will be on Guernsey's doorstep next year.
The route for the 100th Tour de France will see one stage of the race end in St Malo and a time-trial stage end in Mont St-Michel in July next year.
With the Brittany regions only a two-hour ferry journey away, it will be the closest the event has ever come to the island.
Professional cyclist James McLaughlin said the 21-day event was something not to be missed.
'Even for people who aren't interested in cycling, the atmosphere surrounding the Tour de France is something you will never be able to experience anywhere else.'
