The row over plans to phase out income tax relief on mortgage interest shows no signs of going away before the budget is debated, and today we'll be getting more views on the Treasury Department's proposals.

We're also to the Guernsey Border Agency to find out more about its recent case involving a former police officer and his family, who were been jailed for drug trafficking.

The trial begins in the UK today of a man accused of murdering his partner, Guernsey-born woman Sarah Gosling, in Newcastle earlier this year. A report will be supplied to us for publication tomorrow.

The Church of England synod is taking place this week, and the gathering is expected to decide once and for all whether or not to allow women to become bishops. We'll be talking to the Guernsey representative at the meeting to find out what happens.

Paralympics dressage competitor Natasha Baker is in the island today and we'll be catching up with her when she visits Melrose School to talk to the pupils there.

We'll be finding out more about a book signed by the Duchess of York, which is going to be auctioned for charity, and meeting the owners of a tortoise which is believed to be 130 years old but has been poorly recently after it was attacked by rats.

Tomorrow's sports pages will feature a report on tonight's Priaulx League clash between Vale Rec. and North, which kicks of at the Corbet Field at 7.30.

There'll also be the latest Fantasy Formula 1 league table as well as news of big changes afoot at the top of the Guernsey Cricket Board.
