A FISHERMAN sustained suspected spinal injuries after falling down a hatch on his vessel yesterday.

A FISHERMAN sustained suspected spinal injuries after falling down a hatch on his vessel yesterday.

Ambulance and Rescue received a call at 12.07pm to attend the fish quay at Castle Emplacement.

The man, who was named at the scene as William Falla, was complaining of pain in his back, rib and abdominal area.

The Ambulance and Rescue crew removed him from the boat, as he was unable to get off by himself.

He was taken to hospital for treatment.
