UTILITY companies have been accused of failing to work together on road closures after JT announced it was to shut Gibauderie.

The St Peter Port road was closed last year to enable Guernsey Water to carry out mains repairs.

Now it will be closed again from 10 to 31 January in sections.

The news has angered one resident who felt that the two utilities could have shared one closure, reducing the disruption.

Sarah Griffith contacted both JT and Guernsey Water and has become concerned about whether utilities were working together.

JT is closing the road as part of its investment to extend its fibre network, which it said would deliver improved services.

Engineering manager Kevan Marquand denied that there was a lack of cooperation.
