SNOWY weather conditions brought in more customers for one west coast business this morning.

Cobo Butchers said it had seen more people than usual for a Friday.

'We have had a few more in and I think that might be because there are more people on foot,' said owner Steve Robert, pictured.

'We were very busy yesterday as well and I think that was because people were worried about the snow and they wanted to come in early.' He said staff had managed to travel to the Grandes Rocques shop in time for opening.

'We've had no problems – it's all running as normal.' Eclipse Technologies, which is at Rue de Bouverie, Castel, said it opened slightly later at 9.15am as staff travelled to work.

'We've only had one person in so far,' said assistant Rose Le Moignan.

'But I think it will improve, hopefully, throughout the day.' Cobo Food Hall store manager Sarah Packham said staff had got into work on time.

'Most of us drove and the conditions were okay as long as you drove slowly,' she said.

'We have had the same amount of customers in as what is usual at this time in the morning.' Cobo Village Centre proprietor Ralph Le Page said a couple of his staff had been running late but it opened as usual.

'We have been quite quiet anyway with the car park being done,' he added.

Cobo Service Station opened as normal while staff tried to clear the snow from the forecourt using brushes and spades.

'I think we have had a normal amount of customers so far,' said manager Kerry Moon.

Studio Treize Hair and Nails said some of its customers had rescheduled appointments while Cobo Laundry said it was business as normal for them.
