ENVIRONMENT has made another U-turn over the multi-million pound Admiral Park development in a move that will cause further delay.

The department has already admitted one embarrassing blunder when planners recommended it went ahead only to discover they had used out-of-date guidelines in the form of a planning brief approved more than a decade ago.

Now the board has backtracked over its decision to instead assess the development solely against the urban area plan having previously insisted that this was the best way forward.

In a statement posted to the States website, but not issued to the media, Environment says it will ask the Assembly to reinstate the outline planning brief which had been the source of its original mistake.
