HMS DARING'S new commanding officer renewed his affiliation with Guernsey yesterday ahead of the warship's lengthy deployment which will take it all around the world.
Commander Angus Essenhigh, pictured, met island dignitaries as well as the Guernsey Sea Cadets and Elizabeth College students, during his two-day visit with Lieutenant Commander Teilo Elliot-Smith.
He took charge of the £1bn. Type 45 destroyer from Captain Guy Robinson in December.
But it was not the first time he had visited Guernsey, having spent a year on board Daring as operations officer in 2008.
