The skipper of the first fishing boat to, apparently, fall afoul of Guernsey's new three- to 12-mile fishing limit will be in court today, and we'll be there to report on proceedings.

We'll also be looking to get reaction to the incident and the court hearing from local fishermen's representatives.

Today sees the Environment Department's monthly open planning meeting, with islanders permitted to attend the hearing at which various applications will be discussed and decisions taken by the board in the wake of planning inspectors' recommendations.

Barclays has announced that it is to cut 3,700 jobs, with many of these coming from its investment bank. We'll be investigating what this will mean locally during the day.

This week is Eating Disorder Week and we'll be talking to a Grammar School student who is setting out to raise awareness of eating problems.

And with today being Shrove Tuesday we'll be joining representatives of the Guernsey Cheshire Home in the Town Church where they are selling pancakes to raise money for the home.

Tomorrow's sports pages will have coverage of tonight's match between Vale Rec and North at the Corbet Field, as well as a look ahead to Guernsey FC's first CCL Premier League game in several weeks, away at Croydon tomorrow night.

There'll be the regular weekly angling column as well as reports on recent activity in the worlds of air rifle shooting, netball and autocross.
