WORK could finally begin this summer to convert the former Hangman's Inn into a funeral home – seven years after Argent Funeral Services bought the property.
The changes could also see the famous Bailiff's Cross stone given a more prominent spot.
The St Andrew's pub, on the Bailiff's Cross junction, has stood empty since it closed in 2005.
Argent owner Gary Vaudin said the business was granted a building permit for the work in 2007, but the funding fell through.
