The March meeting of the States gets under way today, a day earlier than usual due to the Easter weekend.

Before getting down to the business of the Billet there will be questions from members, with Health minister Mark Dorey and Environment minister Roger Domaille in the firing line for questions on the recent report into Accident and Emergency services and the new bus timetable respectively.

We'll have reports on the ministers' responses and the rest of the day's debate in tomorrow's paper.

And questions are being asked of the Education Department by Deputy Matt Fallaize. He's putting them in written form, and we'll be finding out what he's asking today.

The Channel Islands Competition and Regulatory Authorities begin their investigation of mobile phone services in the island today, starting with a period of consultation. We'll be talking to those involved and finding out how the investigation is set to progress.

After last night's meeting of States manual workers, at which they called for a 3% cost of living pay increase, we'll be asking islanders what they think of the men's request. We'll also have additional reaction to the outcome of the meeting.

Plus we're catching up on the progress of an archaeological dig at Fort Richmond, talking to Bridge traders about the impact that the delay in the development of a new shopping area at the old Leale's Yard site is having on them, and finding out how Guernsey Electricity is progressing with its plans to sell several derelict properties in Vale Avenue.

After Saturday's defeat in the first round of the FA Vase semi-final, Guernsey FC is back in action tonight with a CCL Premier Division game at the home of Raynes Park Vale. We'll have regular Twitter updates during the match, @GuernseyPress, with a summary online afterwards and a full report in tomorrow's paper.

There are also three local Priaulx League matches taking place tonight and we'll have reports on them tomorrow, too – Bels play Sylvans, Vale Rec meet Rangers and Saints play North.

And there's a report on the recent successes of Guernsey swimmers in the Hampshire championships plus the first look at this year's cricket season fixtures.
