FURTHER details have emerged about the resignation of Guernsey's assistant data protection commissioner.

Anne Wiggins quit after an investigation she had been working on for a year was pulled by her boss without her knowledge or consent.

The complainant in that abandoned case has written a detailed letter to the Guernsey Press outlining his grievance against a police officer and the force's Professional Standards Department.

Brendan Murphy argued it was inconceivable that Mrs Wiggins would have spent a year on the investigation if the claims were without foundation.

Mr Murphy and wife Pam turned to the former assistant data protection commissioner in their attempt to hold Guernsey Police to account for incorrect information released by Professional Standards after it investigated the officer.
