A GUERNSEY woman who was involved in a serious car accident in Australia scrambled to get out of her car with a broken arm and leg while the vehicle was tilted on its side, her father said yesterday.

Katie-Jo Ford-Parker, 23, had to be airlifted by helicopter to hospital on Tuesday after her car careered off a road in Williams in Western Australia and rolled over several times.

She will undergo an operation at Royal Perth Hospital on her elbow today. She also cut her ear.

Her father, Ant, who owns Outdoor Guernsey, said his daughter had been very lucky.

'All the signs show that she will be fine,' he said.
