SOME 120 jobs are in jeopardy after Sportingbet staff were told yesterday that a large part of the Guernsey operation was likely to move off island.
Late in the afternoon, about 80 traders – those who set the odds for the on-line gaming company – were given letters saying that the company was considering a number of options.
The most likely was that the trading operation would be moved from Guernsey to offices in Malta and Manila sooner than originally planned.
If the decision is made, the trading operation in Guernsey could close by the end of October.
