We'll be speaking to local firefighters union representatives this morning, following news that Guernsey's part-time firefighters will be axed.

Unite rep Bob Lanning, pictured, is likely to have something to say on the issue and we'll also be finding out what, if any, impact the review of the local fire service will have on the firefighters based in Herm. There'll be a story in tomorrow's paper.

Work on three berths at St Peter Port Harbour is due to get under way today and we'll be going down there with a camera to find out what's happening and get some idea of how long it's expected to take.

With the results of the Guernsey Press vote on States members' pay published today, we'll once again be looking at the issue and reminding readers - and deputies - how members voted on a requete to freeze their pay, which was rejected by the House last October.

There's a bit of a fuss brewing at Vazon, where the surf school is hoping to station a portable building near the slipway, but the owner of the nearby café isn't happy. We'll be talking to the parties involved today for a report in tomorrow's Press.

We'll also be looking at a report published by Islands Analysis, which has surveyed the financial situation of 14 islands and written a comparison of such things as income and borrowing.

Guernsey FC's trilogy of matches starts at Footes Lane tonight, with kick-off at 7.45. Tomorrow's game is at 5.30 and Sunday's starts at 1.30. We'll have reports on all three matches in Monday's Press.
