It follows the visit of Minister of State for Justice Lord McNally, the minister with responsibility for the Crown Dependencies, who highlighted the importance of law enforcement in a successful democracy.

Mr Rice said he would be meeting representatives of the General Purposes and Advisory Committee and other select members of Chief Pleas.

'I think it is important in any jurisdiction that the role of law is a fundamental part of the foundation of democracy,' said Mr Rice, pictured.

'I welcome the opportunity to accept the invitation to Sark to discuss policing issues and how best Guernsey Police can work together with the Sark constables to serve the community of Sark.
