Alderney vet admits failing to restrain dog

THE Alderney States vet was ordered to keep her dog muzzled and leashed in all public places after she pleaded guilty to failing to restrain it.

Helen Dickinson (pictured) was told by jurats that she had a duty to set an example to other animal owners, after the dog attacked another pet while out on a walk.

Mrs Dickinson pleaded guilty to the charge of failing to restrain a dog in her care from attacking or chasing a dog belonging to another person.

She was fined £750 and ordered that the dog be kept on a tight lead and muzzled in all public places.

Afterwards Mrs Dickinson said jurats had set a precedent for all dog owners in Alderney.
