People spoken to by the Guernsey Press, and those who have left comments on this site and on our Facebook page, say that the death of Advocate David Allison has highlighted that changes must be made. We will be chasing Environment for a comment today with a view to running a story tomorrow.

Also today we'll be getting reaction to the news that jobs are to be lost at local company Vets4Pets. We'll be contacting Commerce and Employment for its reaction, as well as local business groups.

With the waste strategy still very much in the news, we'll again by looking at the rebellion over kerbside recycling by some parishes, and asking more questions about how the estimated cost of the initiative rose from £3.4m to £24m.

Interwork Services, which helps disabled adults find work in the community, is holding an open day in St Peter Port today to promote its services to businesses. We'll have a report and pictures in tomorrow's paper.

We're also catching up with the Guernsey Voluntary Service, which was one of the charities to benefit from the proceeds of the CI Christmas Lottery. We'll be finding out how the money they've been given has benefited the service and its users.

Also in tomorrow's paper we'll have a summary of a report on the progress being made by Young People Guernsey, meeting a delegation from Chernobyl as they visit La Mare De Carteret High School, and finding out about more difficulties being experienced by employees with the new States computer system.

Tomorrow's sports section will have a report on tonight's Guernsey FC match against Bedfont Sports – the last of the team's away games this season.

There'll also be a write-up on the Stranger Cup final between Vale Rec and Sylvans.

And there's a report on the first night of this year's evening league division one cricket season.
