A FRUSTRATED parent has criticised the way Education has handled the placing of children starting school in September.

Mum-of-two Ashley Price applied in February for her four-year-old daughter, Izabella Johns, to go to La Houguette. But she, along with many other La Houguette and Vauvert parents, is still uncertain which school her child will attend – more than two months after the application deadline.

Education wrote to all parents who applied to either of the schools 'offering' them the chance to switch because they were both oversubscribed.

'We have waited all this time and we still don't know where she is going,' the 40-year-old said.

Alice Ogier's three-year-old son, Harry Corley, was in the Vauvert catchment area, but she was pleased when asked if he could attend either Amherst or St Martin's instead.
