HAVING 30 children in one Reception class when there were spaces in other schools showed the 'inefficient' way primary school places were allocated, a former Education board member has said.
HAVING 30 children in one Reception class when there were spaces in other schools showed the 'inefficient' way primary school places were allocated, a former Education board member has said.
Matt Fallaize spoke out after the Education Department confirmed final admissions for pupils starting school in September.
Figures showed La Houguette will run one class but with two extra children than Education's class size policy of 28.
La Mare de Carteret had only 37 admissions despite having space for up to 50 students.
Deputy Fallaize, pictured, said it was neither educationally nor economically sensible to run primary school classes with low numbers of children.
