PRE-SCHOOL children could not contain their excitement when turkey eggs that they have been looking after for the past month hatched.
Two little poults, named Milly and Gobby-Gobby, were the first to emerge from their shells out of a batch of 14.
Rainbow Pre-School Playgroup co-owner Anna Thompson said the children have been watching the eggs in the incubator for the past 28 days – cautiously waiting.
'The first one hatched at 8.30am just when the children came in so they were able to watch it and the second one hatched around 2pm.
'Their faces just lit up and they have been very fascinated by them,' she said.
